About El Gouna
Because El Gouna was planned in one piece, the geography is simple: Downtown and Abu Tig Marina hold most of the restaurants and nightlife, the residential islands sit between them, and Mangroovy Beach on the open sea is where the kite and wind schools operate. Water taxis and tuk-tuks cover the gaps, and there is no need for a car once you arrive.
Hurghada International Airport is roughly a 30-minute transfer, which makes El Gouna the easiest Red Sea base to reach from abroad. Wind is reliable through spring and summer — good for kitesurfing, less so if you want flat water for a lagoon swim — while October and April tend to give the best balance of warm water and manageable heat.
