About North Coast
Sahel is measured in kilometre markers on the Alexandria–Matrouh road rather than in neighbourhoods, and the compounds are gated and private — you generally cannot walk into one you are not staying in, and beach access follows the same rule. That makes the choice of compound the whole decision: it determines your beach, your restaurants and how far you are from Alexandria or the newer developments around El Alamein.
The season is short and sharply peaked. July and August fill up, weekend traffic on the coastal road is heavy, and prices track that curve closely. June and September give the same water with far fewer people, but some venues will not have opened or will already have closed.
