Dahab

Dahab

Dahab is a low-rise town on the Gulf of Aqaba in South Sinai, about 85 km north of Sharm El-Sheikh, grown out of a Bedouin fishing village. Its reputation comes from shore diving and freediving — the Blue Hole, the Canyon and the Lighthouse reef are all entered from the beach without a boat — plus steady wind in the lagoon for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The Assalah seafront stays deliberately casual: camps and cafés rather than large all-inclusive resorts.

North Coast

North Coast

The North Coast — Sahel — is the Mediterranean shore running west from Alexandria toward Marsa Matrouh, lined almost end to end with private resort compounds such as Marassi, Hacienda and Sidi Abdel Rahman. The draw is the water itself: fine white sand over a limestone seabed that turns the shallows turquoise. It is strictly a summer destination, and most compounds, restaurants and beach clubs close outside roughly June to September.
