Dahab is a low-rise town on the Gulf of Aqaba in South Sinai, about 85 km north of Sharm El-Sheikh, grown out of a Bedouin fishing village. Its reputation comes from shore diving and freediving — the Blue Hole, the Canyon and the Lighthouse reef are all entered from the beach without a boat — plus steady wind in the lagoon for windsurfing and kitesurfing. The Assalah seafront stays deliberately casual: camps and cafés rather than large all-inclusive resorts.

El Gouna

El Gouna is a privately built resort town on the Red Sea about 25 km north of Hurghada, laid out across a network of small islands and lagoons linked by bridges. Everything is reachable on foot or by tuk-tuk: the Abu Tig marina, the downtown squares, a golf course and a long shallow kitesurfing beach. It runs on its own services rather than on an existing Egyptian town, which is why it reads more like a resort campus than a city.
